Each hole on the course represents one crossword-style answer.
You are given the clue and the first letter of the answer.
Your goal is to reach the last letter (at the flag).
-
Aims for the selected letter
The ball will land on the first matching letter (or neighbor letter!) on its way to the hole.
-
Moves the ball to the next correct letter.
Cannot be used on the first or last letter.
Example Gameplay
After playing R the ball lands at the first R in the fairway.
After playing F the ball lands at the first F in the fairway. In this case it's next to the G in the answer.
Note: Landing on a neighbor letter does not add a stroke to your score unless it's done at the flag.
When you play a letter that isn't an answer or neighbor letter, the ball lands outside of the fairway just ahead of where it was.
Although the ball moves forward, it does not reveal an answer letter in the way that landing on a neighbor letter does.
After playing F you land at the last letter of the answer and complete the hole. This was your fourth shot on a Par 3 hole, so your score is +1.
Note: If you had landed next to the last letter (E or G), the hole would still be completed but one stroke would be added to your score. This rule is special to the last letter and does not apply elsewhere.
That's it!
Now go play today's course! There's a new one every day!
